Bio
Sean Fisher is a Chartered Professional Coach (ChPC) with extensive experience in high-performance sport across USports and international women’s hockey. He holds a Master’s degree in High Performance Coaching and Technical Leadership from the University of British Columbia (’25); a Bachelor of Arts (History) from Laurentian University (’09); an NCCP Advanced Coaching Diploma; and a High Performance 1 certification which he completed in 2014.
A native of Stirling, ON (by way of Kingston), Fisher is entering his fourth season as head coach of the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) Women’s Hockey program. Over his first three seasons, he has led the Panthers to a combined regular season record of 37-37-10 (.500) and a playoff record of 4-3 (.571). In that span, UPEI earned a first-round playoff series win and continued to grow into a strong, values-driven program.
Under Fisher’s leadership, Panther student-athletes have earned multiple major Atlantic University Sport (AUS) awards, including AUS Best Defensive Player, AUS Community Service Award, AUS Rookie of the Year, two AUS Second Team All-Star selections, and two AUS All-Rookie Team honors. Academically, Fisher’s teams have excelled in the classroom, producing 52 Academic All-Canadians over three seasons.
Before arriving at UPEI, Fisher served as head coach of the EHV Vienna Sabres in the European Women’s Hockey League (2021–22), guiding the club to a 27-7 (.794) record and a trio of medals: EWHL Final Four bronze, European SuperCup silver, and an Austrian National Championship gold.
From 2014 to 2020, Fisher coached with the University of Manitoba Bisons Women’s Hockey program in multiple capacities. As head coach in 2018–19, he led the team to a 20-8 (.714) Canada West record and a berth at the USports National Championship. Over his time with the Bisons, the program captured three Canada West silver medals, one gold, and won the 2018 USports National Championship, while also celebrating numerous Academic All-Canadians.
