Welcome to the UPEI Equestrian Club.
Founded in 2018 by Olivia Sperling, this club aims to bring together like minded students who share a love for horses and a passion for the equestrian sport. Come out and try a lesson with head coach Laura MacDougall before fully committing to the club.
Becoming a member:
Anyone may join, there is no experience required. From your first time riding a horse to those who have shown A circuit or above, there is a spot for you.
Costs associated

$40 Membership fee

Island Horse Council Insurance OR another province equivalent - IHC costs $50 and lasts sept until december of the following year.

25$ per lesson
As we are a high risk sport the club, coach and school all require you have your own Helmet ASTM/SEI approved helmets
Members pay their own lesson costs and Show fees should they choose to show on the Atlantic Intercollegiate Equestrian League

$25 per class
All members will be required to participate in at least 1 fundraiser a year, and are highly encouraged to attend club gatherings and social events.
Beginnings:
Founded in 2018 by Olivia Sperling the UPEI team began its first year with an incredible 30+ members and hopes to continue to grow.
Not Only does the club want to see students have the opportunity to ride and work with horses but also to provide a place to get away from the stress that often comes with being in University. Take a break from the books and enjoy a ride, holiday events, and spending time with others who share values and want enjoy a day off of school.
