Panthers add power to blue line with rookie Alyssa Nolan

Bruce Donaldson, head coach of UPEI's women's hockey team, has announced the recruitment of Alyssa Nolan for the 2020–2021 season. The Ottawa, Ontario native comes to the Panthers from the Ottawa AA Lady 67s.

"Alyssa is coming from a program that had a great year, and clearly she played an important role in the team's success," said Donaldson. "We have watched her team play over the past few years. We continue to add depth to our back end, and Alyssa will certainly assist with this. She sees the ice well, has a great first pass and thinks defence first."

"I am very excited to attend UPEI in September," said Nolan. "After visiting UPEI last fall, I quickly decided it was my first option. I found it to be a perfect fit both academically and athletically. I felt very welcomed by everybody and realized immediately I wanted to become a Panther. I enjoyed the tight-knight campus and the beautiful city of Charlottetown. I was impressed by the facilities and the amount of academic support available. I was pleased to see how strong last year's team was and I'm hoping to contribute to another successful year."

Nolan has been accepted into the Faculty of Science.
